A Smith River Diversion

This post is for no other reason than to point out the awesomeness of the Smith River upstream of Crescent City, CA. I have driven by this river at least a dozen times without a clue as to how beautiful it is just a few miles from the mouth. It was so nice that we stayed two nights at the Patrick Creek Campground. The second day we went for a swim and fishing up the Siskiyou Fork, which is even more beautiful than the Smith River main fork, but you’ll just have to believe me because of the previously mentioned a**-over-t*ts fall into Kings Creek and subsequent death of both my phone battery and children.

Don’t repeat my mistake of not stopping to jump in.
